From what I have read, is LPT1 which is what it is connected to. Can you check your settings and see what you have? Also, what boxes do you have checked in the device manager for the LPT1 port settings?

Change the cable - there were many older parallel cables pre-IEEE that were constructed on the cheap, and may not have all the needed conductors to work with your burner.
